Against War and Neoliberalism, caring for a new civilization
- Our proposal of the World Social Forum in Porto Alegre, open and pluralistic space of encounter and reflection, formulation of proposals and exchanges of experiences in which social movements opposed to neoliberalism and to domination of the world by building a capital alternative idea of the world, based on the direct participation of the people.
- We endorse the statement of social movements which, together, was signed in Porto Alegre 2002 at the conclusion of the II World Social Forum, highlighting two key ideas: the struggle against neoliberalism and against war.
- We seek a world that banishes violence as an instrument of political struggle, racism, sexism and fascism. Discriminant not recognize religious or cultural, or any form of totalitarianism and defend sexual freedom of choice for everyone. Defend and control strategies: non-violence, civil disobedience, pacifism, strikes and street demonstrations.
- We affirm the principle of participatory democracy according to which decisions are not taken by a few, but through active engagement of citizens and workers in collective decision making, drawing on the experience of Porto Alegre. Defend the consensus as the decision-making, thereby strengthening what unites us and relativizing any discrepancies.
- We believe in it, on the role of a citizens' movement political, democratic, horizontal, pluralist, open, work-oriented but linked to local social movements international response to globalization, not excluding those persons, associations, political space, labor and social experiences committed to the idea that:
"Another World is Possible"
